Using a heating system, combined with an aerator, is something else that you can do. Typical heat exchangers can be set up in the pond keeping the temperature at higher levels. This can maximize the amount of oxygen that you have in the water, plus it will serve as a deterrent for ice forming. Adding an air compressor to the aerator can also increase the amount of oxygen and speed up the process by which aeration actually occurs.

Using these simple strategies for aerating your pond water, you can ensure that the environment for your fish is always maintained at maximum levels. If you have not done this in quite some time, or have not done it at all, you will see a noticeable change in the activities of your fish and the quality of the water in the pond.
